How to deal with insect stings:
- If the sting is visible carefully scrape it off the skin with the edge of a credit card or similar object (do not use tweezers).
- Elevate the injury if possible and apply an ice pack (wrapped in a tea towel or triangular bandage) for 10, minutes. Seek medical advice if the pain or swelling persists.
- If the sting is in the mouth give an ice cube to suck on or sips of cold water.
